The Pittsburgh-based quartet known for their harmony-driven blend of folk rock has also premiered the video for their debut single, “Love, Lust & Wreckage.”
PITTSBURGH, PA –July 9, 2024 – Pittsburgh’s own acoustic quartet, Vento, Ziggy, Hawk & McCarthy, are thrilled to announce the release of their highly anticipated cover of Rick Nelson’s classic hit single, “Garden Party.” The single will be available on all major streaming platforms through MTS Records on July 12th. Vento, Ziggy, Hawk & McCarthy, consisting of John Vento, Bob Zigerelli, Cherylann Hawk, and Kevin McCarthy, have quickly gained a reputation for their rich four-part harmonies and acoustic interpretations of both original compositions and beloved songs. Their repertoire includes originals from John Vento’s acclaimed albums “Love, Lust & Other Wreckage” and “Brick by Brick,” Cherylann Hawk’s diverse projects, and timeless covers from artists like CSNY, Bob Dylan, James Taylor, and more.
The stunning music video for “Love, Lust & Wreckage” was produced, directed, and edited by Nicole Windsor Ross, who also stars in the video. Nicole, known for being featured on the artwork for John Vento’s album “Love, Lust & Other Wreckage,” brings her creative vision to life in this visual masterpiece. The production crew for the video included James Pitulski, Justin Zbigniew Capozzoli, and Tim Matthews.
The single was recorded at Maplewood Studio in Ambridge, PA, with David Granati at the helm.

John Vento (Vocals, Percussion) – Best known as the frontman for the high-energy rhythm and blues group The Nied’s Hotel Band, John has brought the band together with his passion for acoustic music. Co-founder of Band Together Pittsburgh and creator of Steamworks Creative, John’s latest album, “Brick by Brick,” showcases his evolving sound.
Bob Zigerelli (Vocals, Guitar) – A guitar prodigy since the age of 8, Bob’s journey has taken him from performing on Pittsburgh’s “Come Alive” TV show to studying at Berklee College of Music and playing with various bands. He began collaborating with John and Cherylann in 2020 and has been instrumental in developing the group’s sound.
Cherylann Hawk (Vocals, Percussion, Guitar) – With a music career that started at age 5, Cherylann has been a significant contributor to the Pittsburgh music scene. From her early days in Wheeling, WV, to leading Cherylann Hawk & The Clay Band, her talent and experience bring depth to the group’s performances.
Kevin McCarthy (Vocals, Guitar) – A veteran of the western PA music scene, Kevin’s versatility spans blues, pop, jazz, rock, and more. Recognized as one of the top guitarists by the BSWPA, he brings a wealth of experience and musicality to the group.
