Szintra is a Hungarian composer and classically trained flutist based in Salzburg, Austria.
Szintra discovered a love and passion for music from a very young age. Her grandfather was a conductor and director of the Hungarian state choir and her grandmother was a classically trained singer. It goes without saying that Szintra was deeply immersed in music. At nine years of age, she started learning how to play the flute and at thirteen she started taking piano lessons. The following year, she joined a music school and she hasn’t looked back since.
Szintra blurs the lines between new age, traditional folk, and neoclassical darkwave. She’s also inspired by lush and multi-layered compositions from iconic artists such as Enya. However, Szintra is impossible to pigeon-hole, as she has diverse influences and a unique musical identity.
The artist studied flute at the Mozarteum University and quickly felt right at home in the vibrant city of Salzburg. Eventually, Szintra started teaching and getting involved with different artistic projects. She played an eclectic variety of concerts, from classical, jazz, and even flute beatbox shows. In collaboration with her husband (a dancer and author), Szintra began producing music for theatre and film. Throughout her career, she has worked on three short films and two theatrical projects.
Following the birth of her daughter, Szintra took a creative hiatus, and now she is back with her debut album, “Szintra – The Fragrance Of Memories”, which will be available on all digital platforms on Oct 30, 2020.
