PITTSBURGH, PA – April 25, 2025 – Award-winning country artist Gary Pratt is kicking off a brand-new era in his musical journey with the release of his infectious new single, “Red Barn,” available everywhere on Friday, April 25th, 2025. This high-energy track marks the first single from his much-anticipated upcoming project, a collaboration guided by producer Adam Ernst and engineer Douglas Kasper of Tonic Studios.
After the critically acclaimed success of his last album Something Worth Remembering, Pratt wasn’t planning on returning to the studio so soon—until a fateful call from Ernst and Kasper in late 2023 changed everything.
“I had no idea what songs I was even going to record. I was a nervous wreck. I didn’t want to lose the opportunity to work with Adam again,” says Pratt. “We ended up spending 2024 in the studio. Adam flew in from Nashville one week every month, Doug gave his all, and together, we’ve created something really special.”
The first taste of that effort is “Red Barn”—a rollicking, flirtatious, and irresistibly fun country tune written by hit songwriter Jason Patrick Matthews (Billy Currington’s “Must Be Doin’ Somethin’ Right,” Luke Bryan’s “Country Man”). With vivid lyrics that blend youthful romance with farm life charm, the song struck a personal chord with Pratt.
“It reminded me of the red barn on my Great Grandfather’s farm,” he explains. “The memories, the storytelling, even the Silverado mention—it all hit home. Plus, my duet partner Kate Szallar and her husband actually have a red barn and a Silverado. It just felt right.”
With a driving tempo, crisp production, and a singalong chorus, “Red Barn” blends traditional country storytelling with modern polish. To add another layer of excitement, choreographer Karen Zima is currently developing a custom line dance to accompany the single, which will be taught at upcoming live shows.
