Recorded at legendary Sun Studios, with raw, authentic sound and a powerful message, the single and video will be released this Friday, March 14th.

OTTAWA, ONTARIO – March 14, 2025 – MTS Records is proud to announce the upcoming release of Cory M. Coons’ latest single, “Faded Glory (Land of the Free)”, this Friday, March 14, 2025. This powerful, all-acoustic reimagining of his 2004 song was recorded at the legendary Sun Studios in Memphis, Tennessee, bringing back the raw emotion and authenticity of its original inspiration.
Following the success of his first acoustic release of the year, “Crumbs ‘24,” Coons once again strips down the production to its bare essence, recording in just a couple of takes, with minimal overdubs. Utilizing vintage microphones and half-inch reel-to-reel tape recording techniques, this version captures the heart of the song in its purest form—no auto-tune, no heavy production—just raw, heartfelt storytelling.
The accompanying music video, filmed primarily by Coons’ 10-year-old daughter, Charleigh Lynn Coons, offers a stunning visual journey through the picturesque Armsdale Farm in Columbia, TN. This location holds deep historical significance, tied to generations of American history, including Civil War connections and Native American heritage. The farm’s owner, Bobby, traces his lineage back to a maternal grandfather born before the Civil War in 1857, whose father tragically passed away in a Chicago prisoner-of-war camp.
The video features powerful imagery, including the remains of two historic chimneys, marking homes built in 1912 and an old cook’s cabin, as well as a nod to Chief Doublehead, a well-known Cherokee leader whose presence in the area is still felt today through discovered arrowheads and a symbolic tree carving.
Originally written over 20 years ago, “Faded Glory (Land of the Free)” remains eerily relevant today. The song reflects on history, loss, war, and division, while offering a message of love, peace, and unity. Coons’ lyrics explore themes of sacrifice, faith, and the choices we make for future generations, urging listeners to find hope even in troubled times.
With spiritual undertones, the outro lyrics—”Listen you can hear it when the four winds blow”—echo Biblical scripture, referencing Matthew 24:31, where angels gather the faithful from the four winds.
