LITTLE ROCK, AR – February 17, 2025 – Country soul singer-songwriter Zach McKenzie is back with another powerful anthem, “Don’t Dish It Out If You Can’t Take It,” set for release on February 21, 2025 via MTS/Virgin/Universal. This highly anticipated track follows the success of McKenzie’s Top 10 UK iTunes Country hit, “The Day That I Found You,” solidifying his place as a rising star in the industry.
A fiery breakup anthem packed with resilience and raw emotion, “Don’t Dish It Out If You Can’t Take It” tells the story of moving on when a relationship ends unexpectedly. With its infectious melody, heartfelt lyrics, and McKenzie’s signature soulful vocals, the song flips the script on heartbreak—proving that sometimes, love lost leads to something even better.
“This song is all about turning the tables,” says McKenzie. “It’s about standing your ground, moving forward, and not letting heartbreak define you. I think a lot of people will relate to it.”
The new single comes on the heels of McKenzie’s previous hit, “The Day That I Found You,” which climbed to #7 on the UK iTunes Country chart and was accompanied by a heartfelt music video depicting his own love story. With a rich blend of country, soul, and gospel influences, McKenzie continues to captivate listeners with his authentic lyrics and unmistakable voice.

Born in Pine Bluff, Arkansas, McKenzie discovered his passion for music early, honing his talents in church and high school choir before winning Arkansas Idol in 2012. His success led to an audition for Season 12 of American Idol, where he impressed judges Mariah Carey, Keith Urban, Randy Jackson, and Nicki Minaj. Since then, McKenzie has built a strong career performing across Nashville and Arkansas, blending country storytelling with soulful delivery.
Beyond music, McKenzie has also made a name for himself in film, debuting as a screenwriter and director with the 2022 short film Joanett Road.
With “Don’t Dish It Out If You Can’t Take It,” McKenzie once again showcases his ability to turn personal experiences into relatable, soul-stirring music that resonates with listeners.
