From the Seattle Acoustic Festival’s official website and press release: Seattle, WA, July 30–The 2015 Seattle Acoustic Festival, an annual gathering of the region’s best singer-songwriters, indie-folk, Americana and other hybrid styles of acoustic music is back for another year of great songs, skillful musicianship and passionate performances. The exciting one-day all-ages festival will be held on Saturday, August 22nd at All Pilgrims Christian Church on Seattle’s Capitol Hill beginning at Noon and running until 11 PM. The SAF is a non-stop musical event covering three stages in one venue, making it easy to explore, enjoy old favorites and discover new artists.
Here’s the full lineup of performers: Star Anna, The Local Strangers, Dark Hip Falls, Tomo Nakayama, Wren, The Ramblin’ Years, Tekla Waterfield, Tobias the Owl, Olivia De La Cruz, Debbie Miller, Faint Peter, Swander, March to May, TBASA, Science!, Paul Mauer and the Silence, Lonewolf Ballentine, Brenda Xu, Devin Sinha, Jaspar Lepak, Lana McMullen, Levi Fuller & the Library,Patrick Galactic, Lindstrom and The Limit, Katrina Charles, David Johnson featuring El Cuervo Lento, Aaron Willsie, Traverdan, Anna Gordon, Passenger String Quartet, and Saint John and the Revelations!
Elijah Dhawan, the driving force behind both the Festival and London Tone Music’s low-fi folk band, Tobias The Owl, says the motivation behind the festival is simple: “ We want to provide a bigger, more public event to recognize artists and names from our region that have a more intimate sound,” adding, “these are also musicians that the organizers love and are inspired by. This is going be a wonderful event.”
