Make Music Philly is a day of free music taking place all over the city of Philadelphia each year on June 21, the first day of summer and the longest day of the year. Its purpose is to engage citizens in highlighting and celebrating the role of music in our lives and our city. The concept was started in 1982 in France with Fetes de la Musique, and was first celebrated in 2006 in the U.S. as National Music Day. On June 21, 2013, Philadelphia joined more than 500 cities around the world that celebrate National Music Day by presenting the inaugural Make Music Philly.
Jiggley Jones is an Americana singer-songwriter based in Coatesville, PA, less than an hour from Philadelphia.
