The Indie Authority interviewed recent high school graduate and chart-topping country singer, Josey Milner. Here’s an excerpt from their conversation:
The Indie Authority: Who is your major music influence?
Josey Milner: I definitely have several musical influences. Growing up, it was common to listen to artist like George Jones, Tammy Wynette, and Patsy Cline. Those artists have made an impact on me for sure, but probably not as much as Miranda Lambert. Since I’m doing this career in the present day, the country music scene has changed a bunch. I just think Miranda is a great person and I love all of her music. She is highly respected and is definitely an artist that is leaving/will leave an impact on the country music industry.
TIA: When your life is all said and done, what do you want on your tombstone? Or, How would you want to be remembered?
JM: I want people to see my love and appreciation for music. That is why I do this career. It’s because I love music. It’s also a plus that my love for music brings happiness to a lot of people. No matter how upset I am, or whatever my mood is, music makes me happy. Just listening to it brings a smile to my face. I also want to leave a good impact on the county music industry. I want to release great music that touches a lot of people and is remembered.
