This Saturday, September 14, 2013, Ontario music artists will come together in Dresden, Ontario, Canada to perform at the “Ontario Loves Alberta” Musical Flood Raiser. The fundraising concert will benefit the Alberta’s Red Cross Flood Relief Fund, for the victims of the June 2013 flooding in Alberta, Canada. The concert will be held at 30069 Irish School Road in Dresden, Ontario. Gates open at 10am. Tickets are $25 for adults, $10 for ages 6-12, and free for kids 5 and under. Among the acts performing are 2013 Ontario Country Music Association award nominee, Amy Rose, Naomi Bristow, Brooklyn Roebuck, Austin Pryce, Bob Kirkham and Neon Rain, Shelly Rastin, and Michael Warren. More acts are expected to be added, leading up to the show date.
In the days leading up to June 20, 2013, Alberta, Canada, experienced heavy rainfall that triggered catastrophic flooding described by the provincial government as the worst in Alberta’s history. A total of 32 states of local emergency were declared, and 28 emergency operations centers were activated. Four people were confirmed dead as a direct result of the flooding and over 100,000 people were displaced throughout the region.
