You will see an emcee that is original and believes in originality in his music. You will hear an emcee with many influences, from life to entertainment, to music. You will hear the lyrics and thoughts of the “savage poet”.
This Milledgeville (roots in Sparta), Georgia native has always been musically inclined. He first started listening to hip hop at the age of 10. His brother-in-law changed his life by introducing him to the D.O.C. and his album “No One Does It Better”. The Xxodys heard the D.O.C. and was instantly mesmerized by what he heard. He explains, “After hearing the D.O.C.’s album, I knew that rapping was something that I wanted to do. I knew that it took a lot of creativity and for someone my age, the way that the rhymes were created and delivered was an exciting thing to hear”. After hearing the D.O.C., and subsequent releases such as “The Chronic”, “Enter The Wu Tang”, “2pacalypse Now”, “Ready To Die”, “Southernplayalisticadillacmuzik” and many other hip hop classics, The Xxodys decided that he wanted to definitely be an emcee.
The Xxodys is an emcee that loves hearing a message in music, and one that loves delivering a message in music by speaking on subjects that all people can relate to and identify with. The Xxodys says “I have always believed in giving the people something that they can not only feel, but carry with them. You never know someone’s story, and they may hear something in the music that reminds them of where they’ve been, and it might even remind them of where they’re going. That’s why I keep the focus on not only the beats and production, but of the lyrical content and value as well because you never know who you may reach.” This very mind state will be the absolute reason why The Xxodys, the savage poet, will reach a lot of people. “I will know that I have done my job as an artist when I have made a slither of a difference through my music. When someone can listen and know that they may have been through something that I rhyme or talk about, I know that I have done my job. I also know the beauty and power of good hip hop.” The Xxodys is here. The savage poet is ready to speak. The question is; will you listen to what he has to say?
