That’s right shred-headz, an instrumental guitar powerhouse of
lighting fast melodic-guitar solos and space-time continuum chord
structures and hard rock / metal arrangements.
If you like thunderous pounding progressive metal with smart guitar
rhythms, dynamic percussive bass and drum playing, extravagant lead
harmonies in the style of Iron Maiden, DIO, Yngwie Malmsteen, Firewind
and the likes, then I’m truly assured you’ll be all over this album
eat’n it up.
The song, “Under the Darkened Sky” has vocals which are ‘spot on’ by
Kevin Rasel. He makes the shoe fit and wears it well. And yes, there
is some commercial appeal here too like w/ the keyboard driven song
“Nothing Major”.
“Under The Darkened Sky” is one for the books which also logs in at
over 8 minutes. You can positively be assured that your girlfriend
will not like this album at all. Neo-classical music has a weird
effect on them…
As I sit here and listen to the 5th tune “GuitarCadia”, I’m floored
with the Xander Demos’ speedy fretwork to say the least… This tune
is definitely a cacophony of superbly-driven electrified guitar
sounds. This talented guitar player’s arpeggiated scale antics are not
of this earth.
The rest of the album follows suit with the first half. The word that
keeps coming to mind is “Relentless”. The album’s little surprise is a
rendition of the Don Henley’s tune “Boys of Summer”. And let me tell
ya, It RAWKS!! Mike Sclullo does one fine job on the vocals too.
And, Dean Minerva drumming brings everything up another notch.
The last song on this well produced CD is the famous “Lady in Red”.
The tune is finely redone with some Satriani wet wah-induced melody
lines making this CD come around full circle. Great Job Guys !!!–Scott Thomas, Guitarz Forever
